'Rent' Makes Music on DVD in February
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the Region 1 DVD release of a two disc special edition of Rent on February 21st, 2006.
Based on Puccini's classic opera "La Boheme," Jonathan Larson's revolutionary rock opera Rent tells the story of a group of Bohemians struggling to live and pay their rent in the gritty background of New York's East Village. "Measuring their lives in love," these starving artists strive for success and acceptance while enduring the obstacles of poverty, ilness and the AIDS epidemic.
The disc will feature an Anamorphic Widescreen transfer with English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround. Extras include: an audio commentary with director Chris Columbus and selected cast members, a new feature length making of documentary, deleted scenes and additional musical performances.
