'Walk the Line' DVD Flies Off the Shelves

Oscar-nominated Walk the Line sold 3 million copies on the first day of its DVD release, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment reported Wednesday.
The DVD was released Tuesday and flew off shelves 25 percent faster than forecast, The Hollywood Reporter said.
The high number of sales was attributed to what is known as the "Oscar bounce." Both Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon are nominated for their lead roles in the Johnny Cash biopic.
"We're thrilled with this sales velocity and expect all of the activity around the Oscars to further boost sales and awareness this week and well into next," Fox's Steve Feldstein told The Reporter.
