'Cars' Drives Onto DVD November 7th
Disney/Pixar's summer blockbuster Cars will drive onto DVD shevles on November 7th. The second-biggest film of the year, behind Disney's own Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest ($400 million+), the animated film has pulled in $236 million at the domestic box office and $347.8 million worldwide.
The DVD will include an all-new short film "Mater and the Ghostlight" and a behind-the-scenes feature, "Inspiration for Cars," in which writer-director John Lasseter explains what prompted him to make the film.
Also on the $30 DVD is "One Man Band," the Academy Award-nominated short that played in theaters before Cars, four deleted scenes and a sneak peek at next summer's Disney/Pixar animated feature Ratatouille.
