11-14-08Fox Searchlight Pictures has picked up The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, a project (with a very cool title!), which reunites the Milk team of director Gus Van Sant and writer Dustin Lance Black, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Kool-Aid, based on a 1968 Tom Wolfe book, was first put together last year after Gladstein, who had the rights, enlisted Van Sant and Black.

10-26-08Oscar winner Don Cheadle (Traitor, Ocean's Thirteen) is stepping in to replace Terrence Howard (The Hunting Party) in Iron Man 2, Marvel Studios' sequel to its summer blockbuster, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jon Favreau is returning as director, and Robert Downey Jr. is expected back as billionaire industrialist Stark/Iron Man. Gwyneth Paltrow also is expected to be back as Stark's assistant, Pepper Potts.
10-14-08Bryce Dallas Howard, who played Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man 3, is in negotiations to replace Charlotte Gainsbourg in action-adventure sequel Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Gainsbourg was originally set to play Kate Connor, the wife of human resistance hero Connor. The actress had to bow out because of scheduling conflicts with another film, a French comedy.

The Dutch filmmaker is set to direct Pierce Brosnan in a sequel to the 1999 remake of "The Thomas Crown Affair". Tentatively titled The Thomas Crown Affair 2, the MGM project is based on the 1964 movie "Topkapi" and the novel "The Light of Day" by Eric Ambler.

Pictures. The project stars Carrey as a man who decides to change his life by saying yes to everything that comes his way.

The story follows two down-and-out community theater actors who think they've accidentally killed a co-star. In a panic, they go on the lam and hide out in a Renaissance fair.
