George Clooney, who is excellent in this weekend's dark comedy Burn After Reading, is said to be recruiting some other big names to star alongside him in The Men Who Stare at Goats for BBC Films, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Clooney has been working his Smoke House Pictures partner, director Grant Heslov, on negotiations to bring actors Ewan McGregor (Cassandra's Dream), Kevin Spacey (21) and Jeff Bridges (Iron Man) into the project.

Jason Statham, who stars in the upcoming crime thriller The Bank Job (we are giving away passes!) will once again return as Frank Martin for a third time in Transporter 3. Statham will reprise his role as the mercenary driver/delivery man. He will reteam with co-star Francois Berleand and new addition Robert Knepper ("Prison Break").

Ewan McGregor, who toplines upcoming Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, will be falling in love with Jim Carrey in the new dark comedy I Love You Philip Morris, according to Daily Variety. Carrey signed on in the fall to star in the movie, based on the real-life story of Steve Russell that was put down in paper in a book by Houston Chronicle crime reporter Steve McVicker.

The very-underrated Mark Ruffalo (Reservation Road, 13 Going on 30) and Ethan Hawke (Before the Devil Knows You're Dead) will topline the true-life crime drama Real Men Cry for the Yari Film Group, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Amanda Peet (Martian Child) also has boarded the project.

Angela Bassett (Akeelah and the Bee) and Noah Wyle (Donnie Darko: Director's Cut) have joined the cast of Nothing but the Truth for the Yari Film Group. Although not related, the project closely resembles the true—life tales of former CIA operative Valerie Plume, who—you probably know—was outed by a handful of journalists.

Limp Bizkit rocker Fred Durst, who supposedly dabbles in directing movies like recent drama The Education of Charlie Banks, is in negotiations to direct rapper Ice Cube ("Are We Done Yet?") in an inspirational sports drama based on a true story, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Writer/director Rod Lurie's story centers on newspaper reporter (Kate Beckinsale) who outs a CIA agent and is imprisoned for refusing to reveal her source.

Director Len Wiseman, who last helmed Bruce Willis' Live Free or Die Hard, is in negotiations to shoot the remake of Escape From New York for New Line Cinema. 300 star Gerard Butler will topline as anti-hero Snake Plissken, a role played by Kurt Russell in John Carpenter's 1981 film.

Fresh off box office champ The Bourne Ultimatum, Joan Allen has joined the cast of the long-rumored Death Race, a remake of the Roger Corman cult classic, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Deadwood" villain Ian McShane and actor/singer Tyrese Gibson also are in the starting lineup for the action-thriller, which stars Jason Statham.

Ray Liotta will team with Forest Whitaker and Jessica Biel in the drama Powder Blue. According to Daily Variety, the film will begin production next month with Timothy Linh Bui writing and directing for Eleven Eleven Films, Spirit Dance Entertainment and Grosvenor Park Media.
