Clooney Aims to Snag Trio for 'Goats'

George Clooney, who is excellent in this weekend's dark comedy Burn After Reading, is said to be recruiting some other big names to star alongside him in The Men Who Stare at Goats for BBC Films, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Clooney has been working his Smoke House Pictures partner, director Grant Heslov, on negotiations to bring actors Ewan McGregor (Cassandra's Dream), Kevin Spacey (21) and Jeff Bridges (Iron Man) into the project.

Statham Returns for 'Transporter 3'

McGregor Joins Carrey in Dark Comedy

Ewan McGregor, who toplines upcoming Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, will be falling in love with Jim Carrey in the new dark comedy I Love You Philip Morris, according to Daily Variety. Carrey signed on in the fall to star in the movie, based on the real-life story of Steve Russell that was put down in paper in a book by Houston Chronicle crime reporter Steve McVicker.

The very-underrated Mark Ruffalo (Reservation Road, 13 Going on 30) and Ethan Hawke (Before the Devil Knows You're Dead) will topline the true-life crime drama Real Men Cry for the Yari Film Group, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Amanda Peet (Martian Child) also has boarded the project.

Angela Bassett (Akeelah and the Bee) and Noah Wyle (Donnie Darko: Director's Cut) have joined the cast of Nothing but the Truth for the Yari Film Group. Although not related, the project closely resembles the true—life tales of former CIA operative Valerie Plume, who—you probably know—was outed by a handful of journalists.
