'Body of Lies' Fails to Take Box Office Crown
Thriller Body of Lies failed to take the top spot at the weekend box office in North America on Sunday, becoming the latest victim of moviegoer aversion to movies dealing with Middle East intrigue. The $70 million Warner Bros. film, starring Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio as American spies, had to settle for the No. 3 slot with $13.1 million, behind reigning champ Beverly Hills Chihuahua and the new low-budget horror Quarantine.

Emma Roberts has signed on to star in the live-action comedy Hotel for Dogs, which revolves around two orphaned teenagers who hide dozens of stray dogs in an abandoned hotel. Roberts starred earlier this summber in Nancy Drew. Despite the fact that the movie did relatively poorly at the box office, she is attached to star in a sequel.
08-15-07Mac Knows Disney's 'Old Dogs'
Bernie Mac, who was last on-screen in mega-hit Transformers, has joined John Travolta and Robin Williams in the comedy Old Dogs, which is set-up at Walt Disney Pictures. The film is being directed by Walt Becker, who previously worked with Travolta on the surprise hit Wild Hogs.

Jon Heder may star in the big screen adaptation of Nick Redfern's novel Three Men Seeking Monsters. The novel, which is a cult favourite in the U.K., follows three monster hunters who unite for a trip to every location in the British countryside where monsters have been spotted.
