Helmer Gray Gets 'Citizen' Arrest
Director F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job, Be Cool) has signed on to replace helmer Frank Darabont for legal thriller Law-Abiding Citizen, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Darabont recently exited the project, which will star Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler and is a said to be a "priority" for startup production shingle The Film Department.

The Internet rumor-mill is churning that Stephen Sommers, the director behind the first two "Mummy" films as well as Van Helsing, has been hired to helm the live-action feature film version of G.I. Joe for Paramount Pictures. The project will reportedly start immediately; studios are rushing many projects into production in advance of an expected industry strike that could last indefinitely.
