Director Verbinski Plans Animated Feature

Paramount Pictures has signed Gore Verbinski to direct his first animated feature film "Rango", starring Oscar nominee Johnny Depp, who will voice the title character. Release is set for March 2011.

Bale and Depp in 'Public Enemies' Adaptation

Christian Bale (forthcoming The Dark Knight) is in talks to join Johnny Depp in Public Enemies, a Depression-era crime drama from Michael Mann (Collateral, Miami Vice). An adaptation of Bryan Burrough's book "Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-43", the Universal Pictures' project follows the government's attempt to stop the criminals John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd.

Craig is 'Bond' for Next Four 007 Films

Daniel Craig, who was in the late summer flopper The Invasion, is going to be staying James Bond for awhile. Craig has signed on to do four more 007 films, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) has revealed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, MGM's chief executive and chairman Harry Sloan "signed Daniel Craig to do four more James Bond films" because franchises are "the bases of any studio".

'Office' Guy is Universal's 'Renaissance Men'

Rainn Wilson, who probably best known for his role as tyrannical Dwight on NBC's "The Office," will star in Renaissance Men, which he co-wrote with fellow actor Matt Ross ("Big Love"), according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story follows two down-and-out community theater actors who think they've accidentally killed a co-star. In a panic, they go on the lam and hide out in a Renaissance fair.
