Max Payne star Mila Kunis, who is probably best known for her role in "That 70s' Show" has joined the cast of The Book of Eli, the Denzel Washington sci-fi action thriller from Warner Bros. Pictures and Alcon Entertainment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Albert and Allen Hughes are directing the pic.

The cast and crew for Marvel Studios' 2011 film The Avengers is coming together quite nicely. Iron Man himself Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle, whose deal to replace Terrence Howard in the Iron Man movies has been finalized, have signed for the actioner, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Jon Favreau is returning as director, and Robert Downey Jr. is expected back as billionaire industrialist Stark/Iron Man. Gwyneth Paltrow also is expected to be back as Stark's assistant, Pepper Potts.

Screenwriter-turned-director Shane Black, who directed 2005's flop Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, will next helm Cold Warrior for Universal Pictures, according to Daily Variety. Based on a script by Chuck Mondry, the story revolves around a spy from the Cold War era who comes out of retirement to team with a younger agent from the new school to confront a domestic terrorism threat orchestrated by Russia.

Keira Knightley is returning to period drama to play an 18th Century aristocrat in a new film called "The Duchess". Daily Variety reports that the film tells the story of Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire, and is based on the best-selling biography "Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire" by Amanda Foreman.

Dimension Films has closed a deal to remake David Cronenberg's 1981 sci-fi horror movie Scanners, with Saw II director Darren Lynn Bousman at the helm.
