    Warner Eyes 'Ninja Scroll' Movie

    Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired the rights to turn the Japanese action-thriller anime Ninja Scroll into a live-action feature film, Daily Variety reported. Screenwriter Alex Tse (Watchmen) has been set to write the script. The project will be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way, with Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Mike Ireland producing.

    Kutcher Shoots 'Killers' Role at Lionsgate

    Lionsgate Films has tapped Ashton Kutcher, who was last seen in summer comedy What Happens in Vegas, as the lead in the action comedy Five Killers, according to Daily Variety. Kutcher will play a former hit man whose attempts to go legit are complicated when a contract is taken out on his life. As the title suggests, five killers are sent to hit the hit man, which is just never good.

    Helmer Gray Gets 'Citizen' Arrest

    Director F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job, Be Cool) has signed on to replace helmer Frank Darabont for legal thriller Law-Abiding Citizen, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Darabont recently exited the project, which will star Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler and is a said to be a "priority" for startup production shingle The Film Department.
