Plot Summary:

A girl and her two younger brothers are sent to live with their uncle in Canada in a house that resembles a ship perched at the edge of the sea. The siblings discover in the house a mural that seems to predict the future, a dumbwaiter that enables one of the brothers to travel into the future and a parrot historian who's also a translator.
