SYNOPSIS
Based on the best-selling novel by Susanna Moore, "In the Cut" is a psychological thriller starring Meg Ryan and directed by Jane Campion. Ryan plays a lonely New York woman who discovers the darker side of passion after becoming involved with a tough homicide detective, who is investigating a series of murders in her neighborhood.

Pegg and Frost Meet 'Paul'
Superbad helmer Greg Mottola will direct the extraterrestrial comedy Paul for Working Title and Universal Pictures, which will star Shaun of the Dead actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, Daily Variety reported. Writer-director Kevin Smith, who has Zack and Miri Make a Porno coming out next week, is said to be developing a futuristic outer-space comedy that will reference other sci-fi movies and revolve around a father-son relationship, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Smith has nodded to the genre in his earlier work but never made an sci-fi film.

Director F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job, Be Cool) has signed on to replace helmer Frank Darabont for legal thriller Law-Abiding Citizen, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Darabont recently exited the project, which will star Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler and is a said to be a "priority" for startup production shingle The Film Department.
