Smith Adding 'Pounds' at Sony

Will Smith will pull his weight with a new drama called Seven Pounds for Sony Pictures, The Hollywood Reporter said Monday.

The project centers on a man who falls in love with a woman while attempting to kill himself. No director is attached to "Seven Pounds." The script was written by TV veteran Grant Nieporte ("8 Simple Rules," Sabrina, the Teenage Witch), and marks his first film screenplay to be developed.

Smith returns to theaters at the end of the year with the true-life drama Pursuit of Happyness.
