The cast for the next "Pink Panther" movie is beginning to shape up quite nicely. John Cleese (Shrek the Third), Andy Garcia (Ocean's Thirteen), Alfred Molina ("The Hoax") and Aishwarya Rai (The Last Legion), have all come aboard Columbia Pictures/MGM's The Pink Panther 2, according to Daily Variety. Martin once again will don the mustache as the bumbling Inspector Clouseau.
Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer will reprise their roles as Gendarme Gilbert Ponton and Nicole, respectively.
Garcia, Molina and Rai will play detectives and experts who team up with Clouseau to catch a thief that has been stealing artifacts worldwide. Cleese will portray Chief Inspector Dreyfus in the pic. Dreyfus, Clouseau's ambitious rival, was played by Kevin Kline in the 2006 film. It's likely that this time around, Dreyfus will seek revenge for Clouseau stealing his glory by solving the first case.
The sequel, helmed by Harald Zwart (Agent Cody Banks) is scheduled for release on Feb. 13, 2009.
