The Walt Disney Studios is developing an action-adventure movie set in space, to star Dwayne Johnson, supposedly inspired by the Tomorrowland section of its Disneyland theme park, Daily Variety reported.
Screenwriters Jon Lucas and Scott Moore will draft the script for the movie, which is being designed as a vehicle for Johnson, who starred for the studio in the family hit The Game Plan and most recently completed action-adventure Race to Witch Mountain. Johnson is also attached to star in Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, which is expected in 2010.
Disney denied to the trade paper that the film has been titled Tomorrowland or that it is dedicated to the theme park's futuristic "land," which features such attractions as "Space Mountain". The studio called the nascent project an original script.
