Rush Hour 3 (2007)

The character Soo Young returns to Rush Hour 3. The sassy little girl we saw in the first movie was replaced with a character we see so often in Chan's Chinese imports, the opened eyed, estrogen-dumbified dip-stick. Actress Jingchu Zhang might as well be from one of those movies. Not only is she stupid and annoying, she is stupid and annoying! She couldn't act herself out of a true life or death situation. I vote for her to be in Fargo 2, using a giant juicer!

It isn't all bad though. There are two reasons to see this movie; the mouth openingly beautiful Noemie Lenoir and the outstanding Yvan Attal.

Noemie Lenoir isn't one of those models whose acting talent will blow you away, but she isn't rotten either. For most of the movie, it is her job to just be beautiful all over the screen, and man is she good at it. It has been a long time since I was as stunned by only the looks of an actress or character.

Yvan Attal plays George the cab driver. George the cab driver is my favorite character in Rush Hour 3. He comes to an awesome self-realization about half way through the movie that left me in stitches. He is by far the best actor in the movie. His character's personality changes more than any other. His comedic timing is perfect and his acting is never off. He steals the spotlight, even from the usually outrageous Tucker, every time we see him!

Tucker is kind of a non-factor in Rush Hour 3. He has no off the hook lines, no crazy motions, no comments that almost cross the line, not even a scenes where he makes pelvic magic.

There is no magic to Rush Hour 3. It isn't a waste of time but no real loss in letting the DVD be your first and only showing.
